Something to Celebrate

For however devoted you are to God, you may be sure that he is immeasurably more devoted to you.
-Meister Eckhart

We truly have an amazing God watching over us!  Today, Nathan and I have received two amazingly awesome pieces of good news.

I would first of all like to say congratulations to my husband that all of his hard work has paid off for him, and he is no long PVT Smith, he is PFC Smith!! :)

Secondly, after months of searching with no luck, I have finally gotten a big break in my search and have been offered a job as caregiver at a day care center here in Richmond Hill.

Today has been a wonderful day, and we are better off than we have ever been and it is all because the power of prayer and the goodness of God!

What to do, what to do?!

Nathan and I moved in at the end of November and finding a job has really been a struggle for me.  Nobody seems to be hiring right now and I am about to go stir crazy!!  That is one of the reasons that I decided to start blogging.  It gives me something to look forward to during the day.  But now, even blogging is not filling the time like I need it to so I decided to give myself a list of things to do every day, which I'm not sure is going to put a dent in it either.  But the list goes as follows:

Monday: Thoroughly clean the kitchen
Tuesday: Vacuum, sweep and mop all of the floors
Wednesday: Clean the bathrooms
Thursday: Sweep the outside
Friday: Clean out the fridge and re-organize Nathan's closet

Now I feel like I should explain to you a couple of things about this list.  I feel the need to sweep outside on a weekly basis for a few reasons; Nathan's Army boots literally pick up EVERYTHING so by keeping the sidewalks outside cleaner, I keep the entry ways cleaner, also there is no such thing as dirt in Richmond Hill, the ground consists of mostly sand with a little bit of grass.  That sand always seems to find it's way into our entryways, so once again by sweeping it off the sidewalks, not nearly as much of it ends up in my house.  Since it doesn't get super cold down here, the trees are very confused about the meaning of fall.  Meaning, the leaves are currently still falling out of the trees here, making the sidewalks covered with leaves, making the entryways of my house covered with leaves.  On to Nathan's closet.  Our master bedroom closet has one rack that consists of my clothes only because there is absolutely no room for his clothes.  So, he uses a closet in one of the spare bedrooms.  That closet is now overflowing onto the floor of the closet, the bed, and the floor of the room.  Literally every time I clean it up within two days there are clothes everywhere.  So, it is necessary to clean it up weekly.

But don't get me wrong, these aren't the only things I do each day during the day.  It is just a weekly list of things to do to make sure they get done.  Without being overwhelming and having to cram them all in on Friday before the weekend starts.

So, now you know a little bit about what I do all day long.  Happy Wednesday!

Finally, A Warm Weekend!

“Truth is a deep kindness that teaches us to be content in our everyday life and share with the people the same happiness.”
-Khalil Gibran

This was such a good weekend, despite the fact that we didn't get to go home and no one came down to see us.  Nathan and I really got to spend time together and enjoy the weather.  He got home really early on Friday from work and we just spent the evening at home with the puppies.  On Saturday he decided he was going to cook a big Boston Butt which was so yummy!  I cleaned the house most of the day and we just enjoyed spending time together again.  Sunday was by far the best day, though.  We woke up early and went to a great church service at Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church, which I have visited twice and have really grown to like.  After church we came home and ate some leftovers from Saturday and watched a little television.  Then we decided since it was almost 70 degrees outside we were going to soak up some sun.  So, we went out on the dock with the dogs and I got in some reading and Nathan did some fishing.  Here are a few pictures of our beautiful Sunday afternoon on the Kilkenny Creek!

And  just a little bit of aggravating the dogs with fake sirens...
